Director, National Institute of banking Management
Dr. Partha Ray is appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of NCGTC w.e.f. July 19, 2024.
Dr. Partha Ray is currently Director, National Institute of Bank Management, Pune.
He was a Professor of Economics at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta for nearly a decade during 2011 – 2021. During 2007 – 2011 he was Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C. Earlier (during 1989 – 2006) he was working in the specialist cadre of Economists in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI); his last position was Director, Department of Economic and Policy Research, RBI.
Educated in Kolkata, Mumbai and Oxford, he has written extensively on issues relating to various global and domestic macroeconomic issues. Apart from eight books, he has published numerous articles in Indian and International Journals.
He is on the Board of Directors of a few Institutions that include, Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC); National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC); and Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL), RBI. He is also a member of The Pension Advisory Council, PFRDA. He is currently a member of the recently constituted Advisory Committee on National Accounts Statistics, Government of India.
